The SalonCheckin feature is one of the most popular extended services offered by ProPoint Solutions. It enables salons to accept appointments and/or check ins online via web browser or mobile app. Extremely popular for large organizations, this feature is also available for independent salons as well.

This topic will assist users of the SalonCheckin service with setting up their systems, their landing pages, and help in the learning of its array of features.

This tool becomes even more effective when paired with the Reserve with Google enhancement module.

The SalonCheckin Service: At a Glance

Requirements:

  • A broadband (high-speed) Internet connection.
  • SuperSalon version 5.8.5 and newer.
  • The establishment of a SalonCheckin account with the Sales department.

Optimum Wait Time Settings for SalonCheckin

Upon first setting up the SalonCheckin extended service, salon owners should adjust the Wait Time settings of SuperSalon to allow the service to work at its best efficiency. The image on the right shows the Salon Setup > Software Settings > Wait Time page in iOffice. For SalonCheckin to work at its absolute best, the settings should be set as:

  • Wait Time Disabled: Off
  • Default Service: Haircut
  • Assumed Walk-in Rate: 0%
  • Wait Time Tuner: 0%
  • Wait Time Refresh Rate: 45
  • Factor In Employees Schedules: Yes
  • Factor In Appointments: Yes
  • Factor In Call Aheads: Yes
  • Display Wait Time Chart: Yes

Adding Services to be Used for SalonCheckin

  1. From anywhere in SuperSalon or iOffice, click or tap on the Manager menu, and then enter the Services sub-menu by clicking or tapping on its entry on the left.
  1. Choose the service that will be used for SalonCheckin by clicking or tapping on its entry from the list.
  1. Set the "Show in SCI" drop-down to "Yes", and if the mobile app is to be utilized,  ensure that "Show in App" is set the same way.
  1. Click or tap on "Save Service" to lock in the changes, and make this service available for clients to book online.

Adding Employees to be Used for SalonCheckin

  1. From anywhere in SuperSalon or iOffice, click or tap on the Manager menu, and then the "Employees" button on the left to enter that submenu to select the employees.
  1. Select the employee who will be available for clients to book online by clicking on their name.
  1. Confirm that both "Performs Services?" and "Show on SCI?" are set to the affirmative with green check marks. Note that their "Nickname" will be what appears on the site or mobile app, so make sure this is correct. If this field is left blank, their name will appear as the standard first and last format.
  1. Click or tap into the "Allowed Services" section and confirm that the services this employee is permitted to perform are the same as the ones that will be available online.When finished, click or tap on the "Save" button.

Accessing the iOffice SalonCheckin Settings

  1. From anywhere in the iOffice cloud management and backup system, click or tap on the “Setup” tab, then the “SalonCheckin” link. This will display all of the SalonCheckin groups the user has access to.
  1. The user will then have access to the Store Settings of the group, which includes a status as well as the Edit and Diagnostics buttons. From here, the user can use the links on the left to navigate their settings.

SalonCheckin Group Landing Page: At a Glance

A.) The customized Logo Image will be seen in both the group and store level web pages, and can be uploaded and posted to this field via iOffice  > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Web Settings > Custom Theme > Logo Image.

B.) Clients can create and log into their own profiles here. This will allow them to set new appointments, review their visit history, and set alerts. This feature also exists at the individual store level as well.

C.) The Homepage Logo will appear both here and in the store information page as well. The dimensions are limited to a height of 350px, and a width of 420px. Your own image can be uploaded to this field via iOffice  > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Web Settings > Custom Theme > Homepage Logo.

D.) The Store Locater will allow your clients to search for the closest  salons based on area and / or zip codes.

E.) The Site Title is located here, and it can be configured at any time via the text field located at iOffice  > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Web Settings > General Settings.

F.) Group Column One is a site module that can be customized via the drop down menu located at iOffice  > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Web Settings > Site Modules.

G.) Group Column Two is a site module that can be customized via the drop down menu located at iOffice  > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Web Settings > Site Modules.

H.) Group Column Three is a site module that can be customized via the drop down menu located at iOffice  > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Web Settings > Site Modules.

SalonCheckin Salon Page: At a Glance

A.) The Salon Display Name can be configured in the text field located at iOffice > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Store Settings > Edit > Salon Display Name.

B.) The salon’s location and contact information will be displayed in this field, along with an alert that indicates whether or not the salon is open.

C.) This field displays any number of Scheduler related alerts and indicators, all of which are activated and configured from the interface located at  iOffice > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Web Settings > Scheduler Settings.

D.) Store Column One is a site module that can be customized via the drop down menu located at iOffice  > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Web Settings > Site Modules.

E.) Store Column Two is a site module that can be customized via the drop down menu located at iOffice  > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Web Settings > Site Modules.

F.) Store Column Three is a site module that can be customized via the drop down menu located at iOffice  > Setup > SalonCheckin > select the group > Web Settings > Site Modules.
