Monthly Financial Report

Location: Reports > Sales > Monthly Financial

One of the most popular SuperSalon/iOffice reports for gauging monthly success, includes metrics for almost any business model.

Use Cases by Role

  • Salon Owner: This is easily the most widely used report for gauging revenue performance, and can be a very valuable resource for salon owners who wish to see all the numbers in one place.
  • Salon Manager: Salon managers can use this report to see which days seem to perform the best, and make better informed scheduling decisions.
  • Salon Employee: Stylists and other salon staff can use this report to get an idea of the big picture when it comes to the performance of their salon.

Data Filters

  • Select Stores: Clicking or tapping here will open the interface that allows the user to select the store(s) that will be be used for the report.
  • Month and Year: These two drop-down menus allow users to select the month and year for the purposes of the report.
  • Switch to Date Range: Filling in this box with a check will replace the month and year drop-down menus with the traditional calendar interface.
  • Generate Report: Clicking or tapping on this button will generate the report based on the other filter criteria.
  • Email Report to: This report can be emailed to a recipient by entering their email address into this text field, and clicking or tapping on the “Email Report” button.

Metrics Tracked

Summary Section
  • Tot. Employee Hours: The total number of payroll hours accumulated by all staff members.
  • Payout Vendors: Any paid outs that were processed through SuperSalon will have their total dollar value shown here.
  • Payin Vendors: The total dollar value of all pay ins performed during the time of the report we shown here.
  • Voids: The total number of voided tickets during the time of the report.
  • Redos: The total number of tickets that were redone.
  • Look and Walks: All looks and walks registered by SuperSalon during the time of the report will be shown here.
  • Cuts: This shows the total number of standard haircuts that were performed during the time of the report.
Customer Statistics
  • Gender: Shows both the percentage and numerical value of tickets processed for male, female, and unknown clients.
  • Source: This area shows the number and percentage of each customer source.
  • Type: Total number amounts and percentage values for Repeat, Recurring, New, and Unknown clients are represented in this section.
  • Age: This section presents the percentage and numerical values of Senior, child, adult, and Unknown customers.
  • Total Customers: The total number of salon clients represented in this report sampling.
Daily Breakdown

This area of the report shows each day of the date range as a row, with several metrics represented in the columns. The greater column sections are broken down as follows:

  • Total Sales: Gross and net revenue values for all sales are shown here.
  • Service Sales: This area displays a breakdown of service revenue in terms of gross, discounted, refunded, and net dollar value.
  • Product Sales: The sub columns here display the dollar value for retail product sales in terms of gross, discounted, refunded, and net revenue.
  • Gross Gift: This column displays the gross dollar value of all gift certificate sales.
  • Tax: The dollar value of all taxes for each day are shown in this column.
  • Paid Out: Any paid outs that were performed within the timeframe of the report will be shown by their dollar value here.
  • Paid In: All paid ins that were processed by SuperSalon for the time of the report are shown here.
  • Closeout Totals: The sub columns in this section show a breakdown of each payment method, reported and actual totals, and till values for each day.
  • Totals: The bottom row of this section shows all totals for each column and sub column of the daily breakdown.
Top 5 Discounts

A daily breakdown of the five most widely used discounts is shown in this bottom section of the report.


Report Calculations

Customer Statistics Section
  • Gender
    • Male: # of Male tickets divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
    • Female: # of Female tickets divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
      • Unknown
      • Ticket: # of tickets where the Gender was not selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
      • Quick Sale:  # of Quick Sale tickets where the Gender was not selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
  • Source 
    • Ticket: # of tickets where each source was selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
    • Quick Sale:  # of Quick Sale tickets where each source was selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100

Sources are configured in the Software Settings > Marketing > Customer Lookup & Tracking.

  • Type
    • Recurring: # of tickets where Repeat/Recurring was selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
    • New:  # of tickets where New was selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
      • Unknown
      • Ticket: # of tickets where New/Repeat/Recurring was not selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
      • Quick Sale:  # of Quick Sale tickets where New/Repeat/Recurring was not selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
  • Age
    • Teen: # of tickets where Teen selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
    • Senior: # of tickets where Senior was selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
    • Child: # of tickets where Child was selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
    • Adult: # of tickets where Adult was selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
      • Unknown
      • Ticket: # of tickets where Age was not selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100
      • Quick Sale:  # of Quick Sale tickets where Age was not selected divided by Total Customers then multiply result by 100

Ages are configured in Software Settings > Sales > Reports.
